Couple photo session in the mountains, in Val Thorens

Emilie and Colin, a couple from Malaysia, fell in love with the Alps and in particular with Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe which culminates at the top of the 3 Vallées. Having the chance to know very well this area, I was able to guide them for their couple session, especially for the most appropriate places to take pictures with their feet in the snow.

It was extremely cold that day (-16 degrees Celcius). The couple was not at all discouraged by the cold and we met at the top of a 3000m lift. Together, we took the time to contemplate the grandiose landscape of the Belleville Valley and then we began the couple session shooting with the high mountains on the background.

We were lucky with the weather because the sun was shining and there was a layer of freshly fallen snow. Braving the cold, Emilie and Colin kept a big warm smile throughout the session.
We finally headed to a mountain restaurant to enjoy a well deserved hot chocolate and take some indoor pictures.

I met a close-knit couple, dynamic and full of life, whom I will have great pleasure to see again at their next stop in the Alps.

We were extremely lucky that my fiancé stumbled on Sylvain’s contact details.
After perusing through his beautiful portfolio on Instagram and a brief skype call, we had a really good feeling about Sylvain’s professional yet very warm and personable character. He did not disappoint.

 

Sylvain really went out of his way making sure our mountain shoot went perfectly.
Our location was set at the picturesque French Alps in Val Thorens.
Sylvain had called a restaurant at the arrival of the gondolas to make sure we had a place to change and get ready for the shoot. We were escorted to a private dining room from the very hospitable restaurant owner with no charge whatsoever!

 

Before leaving the mountain restaurant for our shoot in the snow, Sylvain made sure to create a foot trail/ path for us to walk through the fresh snow (which was high up to our knees) to get the shots of us with the French Alps and beautiful mountains on the background.

His enthusiastic, easy going, and warm personality made our time during the shoot one. My fiancé and I will never forget this experience.

 

Thanks to Sylvain’s commitment and dedication, we got our breathtaking teasers photo within 24 hours and the full photos gallery ready for viewing from his website within the same week.
